When should kids visit the dentist?

Just like adults, children should have regular dental visits. This allows our dentists to monitor their teeth and check that they’re developing normally, and to look out for signs such as cavities or orthodontic issues that may need to be treated.

The Australian Dental Association recommends that children see a dentist by the time of their first birthday, or within six months of their first tooth appearing.[2] This gives our dentists the chance to catch any possible problems before they become serious.
